It's the voice of Asha Bhosle in her youth, without doubt. The last stanza especially is enough to betray that Truth. Sajdah Initially I too fell into the trap as most of the announcers of Radio Ceylon used to call it Lata and it is so as per Earthmusic.net. I don't know whether there is a Lata version in the movie. Listen to these clips. This is a clip from the original 78 rpm record of ek thi ladki. This is a clip from the first ever solo sung by Asha for hindi movies just six months prior to recordings of songs of ek thi ladki. A clip from the original 78 rpm record. During the same time songs of the movie bazar were recorded. In the 78 rpm record and lp record of the bazar, the song " jara sun lo hum apne pyar ka afsana kehte hain" has been mentioned to have been sung by rajkumari and lata. However, this is not correct. while this is lata : but this is asha That means the song is a trio sung by rajkumari, lata and asha.
