As far as I know, Suman Kalyanpur was from Bengal or West Begal. Her maiden name was Suman Hamadi.
Her husband was originally from Kalyanpur, Karnataka.

Lakshmi,

Thank you very much for the 'olumeya hoove' song.

If it helps you to locate the audio, 'amma ni gummana kareyadiru', I found out that the song is from Anuradha (1967).
I think, it is a kirtane by Purandara Daasa. Some how, my vague memory of the song has it as P B Srinivas song; I might be wrong.

Simplefable,

2 singers I really like from South are P.B.Srinivas and SPB. They sing in all the southindian movies. P.B.S' voice is suited for a few actors ,but SPB's voice is suited for all.

I will try my best to get that song for you. Infact, I had it but lost it. It is a very nice song.
