I guess it'd be better if we have one comprehensive thread for all versions of this track, that way it'll much easier to scan which versions one really requires, I'm posting the versions I have with me, all members are requested to contribute...Also, just to avoid confusion, the ones striked out in the list have been already uploaded...

Who is the lyrcist? Well, I've a strong feeling its Qateel Shifai but recently someone on the Net credited the lyrics to Mumtaz Rashid. The track in the movie Dharam Kaanta is credited to Majrooh Sultanpuri. So we're really not better off predicting this one. I'd like the senior members to comment on this & possibly cite some sources to assert their view. Maybe we can PM Inaam on this issue as he's our resident expert on Ghazals & Nazms. |

Trust me on complicating this one, I've just found out that there are AT LEAST TWO MORE ( ) singers who've rendered this beautiful track - Gulshan Ara Syed & Salman Alvi. So that moves the version count for Ghungroo Toot Gaye to a whopping 12.
QUOTE BestOfPakistaniGhazals\BestOfPakistaniGhazals-4\07 - Gulshan Ara Syed - Ghungroo Toot Gay.mp3 Source: https://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?show...istani+ghazals# Gulshan Ara Syed's version can be listened to HERE. Wow I would have loved to have heard/seen that - in Qawwali form! Some more sound quality not that great Music is moral law. Another discovery made!!!
Thanks to harihar, we now have one more version of this phenomenal track, sung by the three Benjamin Sisters of Pakistan. That makes it 13, a number which does not go down too well with numerologists...So I'm guessing there better be one more version... Have requested harihar to post this version (#13). BTW, found some videos & this article on the Web: http://pakistaniat.com/2006/12/17/benjamin...silver-jubilee/ The videos are part of the ShowTime series by PTV (anchor Anwar Maqsood): |

Just so you know these Haar Jeet ones are not the same song, just happens to have those lyrics, which is why I had posted that list with additional lyrics, so folks can differentiate, cause the person just asked for "Ghunghroo Toot Gaye" Haar Jeet 1992 Laxmikant - Pyarelaal 160 kbps, CD rips Ghunghroo Toot Gaye (Tum Apni Rahon Mein -male) - Pankaj 6:43 Ghunghroo Toot Gaye (Tum Apni Rahon Mein -female) - Asha 6:43 and here's one of Pankaj's - this version was on Anokha and Ishq albums of his Ghunghroo Toot Gaye (Mohe Aaye Na Jag Se Laaj) - Pankaj Udhas 6:12 160 kbp cd rip So that really leaves just: 3) Ghungroo Toot Gaye (Mohe Aayee Na Jag Se Laaj) - Asha & Pankaj duet - Aadha Ram Aadha Ravan 8) Ghungroo Toot Gaye (Mohe Aayee Na Jag Se Laaj) - Abida Parveen And then any others members would like to add. Hi Deewani-ji and friends, I have Haar Jeet and the song from Adha Ram Adha Ravan both on cassette. I am struggling to upload/convert them but meanwhile I have the following comments/observations: 1. The Haar Jeet movie wala track goes like "Gori Kyon Hai Tu Bekal, Tere Ghungroo Toot Gaye to Kyaaaa, tere Ghungroo toot gaye to kya" Whereas the song from Adha Ram Adha Ravan goes like "Mohe Aayi Na jag Se Laj Main itna Zor se naachi aaj ki ghungroo tooooot gaye" (this may be the more prevalent one, i'm not sure) 2. Haar Jeet is listed as having music by Bappi Lahiri, not Laxmi-Pyare. I think Bappi is the right one, because there is a track in the album by Rema Lahiri. Please feel free to correct me if I have misstated anything. Regards G Suno, Sunaao aur GaateRaho

gaateraho, I have uploaded the Haar Jeet songs already so no need to convert those, I did mention the differences above as well when I uploaded it, mentioning it is NOT the same song so really does not belong in this thread, but.. since the list was carried over and it was requested I shared it. I did not start this thread, this thread was started for all the versions, but the list I had made in an EARLIER thread for another person who was simply asking for info on songs named "ghunghroo toot gaye" was incorporated into it.
Please see this thread for that information (it is linked above as well): http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?show...=38107&st=0 hello i was wondering if anyone had the song ghungroo toot gaye not the one from dharam kanta and not the one that panka udjhas sang i want the same one that panka sang but the one i want a girl sings Versions of Ghunghroo Toot Gaye that I know of... Ghungroo Toot Gaye (Mohe Aayee Na Jag Se Laaj) - Salma Agha - Param Dharam Ghungroo Toot Gaye (Tum Apni Rahon Mein) - Asha Bhosle & Pankaj Versions - Haar Jeet Ghungroo Toot Gaye (Mohe Aayee Na Jag Se Laaj) - Asha & Pankaj duet - Aada Ram Aadha Ravan Ghunghroo Toot Gaye (Maine Chhod Di Sab Ki Laaj) - Asha Bhosle - Dharam Kanta Ghunghroo Toot Gaye (Mohe Aaye Na Jag Se Laj) - Pankaj Udhas, versions in Aadha Ram Aadha Ravan, and private albums Just so you know these Haar Jeet ones are not the same song, just happens to have those lyrics, which is why I had posted that list with additional lyrics, so folks can differentiate, cause the person just asked for "Ghunghroo Toot Gaye" And you are absolutely correct it's Bappida! Sorry I was confused with the 1972 album of same name by Laxmikant - Pyarelaal - so sorry for that - everyone amend your tags. Thanks for the correction! I'm sure everyone will appreciate Aadha Ram Aadha Raavan ones though!
