Thanks guys for the two slow versions of Zindagi Ki Yehi Reet Hai. I also have another slow version of the same song with a female voice, just wondering how many slow versions are there. Thank you for the upload of Guru's version! Guru's version had much more clarity in it. Somebody posted earlier that the film may have had Guru's voice in it. In the re-released version they may have replaced it with Shabbir Kumar's voice. Reminds me of Maine Pyar Kiya, with the song "mere rang mein." In the DVD, they completely edited the interludes of the song to make it sound original rather than the famous "Countdown" version. Why they used Shabbir Kumar for the voice? My hypothesis is that they used his voice in the movie for the joke song "na maangu sona chandi, hum maange maafi didi, lo pakde hum kaan se" so they may as well use his voice in the movie. If I was the music director and if I couldn't use the "yun" version, then I certainly would have opted for Amit Kumar of Sudesh Bhosle. Actually, I might have ended up with using Nitin Mukesh!!! Regarding Azad's question, there are two slow versions: 1) Kavita Krishnamurthi with children chorus singing when Anil Kapoor was feeling sad that he failed and could not get food for the kids. Kavita K. was picturized on a little girl. 2) the sad version we discussed on this thread. Speaking of Mr. India, do you think Amit Kumar will end up singing on Mr. India 2? |
While your liking and appreciation of Mohammed Aziz is highly respected, I can almost guarantee that the song was sung by Shabbir Kumar. MA had better voice control, range, and to some degree pronunciation than SK, which is why MA began to succeed. The way SK and MA sing certain words makes the difference a lot clearer. Listen to the "aa" vowel of SK in this track. Sometimes, DVD quality things don't produce right sounds. For example, I was listening to "Aaya Aaya Toofan" on DVD and the quality and sound effects ate up most of the sound that it sounded like SK or MA was singing it. When I got the CDQ version, it sounded clearer and I could clearly tell Guru sang it. |
well i took a listen again, from starting to end its all aziz, aziz is better than shabbir he did not go flat in 2 much of his songs, they are songs he sang so well, shabbir went off key and flat in a lot of songs, nevertheless i also love shabbir saab so no one take offense to my opinion. thanks for info but even on bad quality i could tell the singers, i don,t remember songs of toofan but if i heard i would of definitely recognized voice, on females voice sometimes it,s difficult but never i had trouble with male voices, for instance sum1 uploade a song from parvarish and saying amit kuar is the singer, shailendra singh sounds no where close to amit kumar. If I was the music director and if I couldn't use the "yun" version, then I certainly would have opted for Amit Kumar of Sudesh Bhosle. Actually, I might have ended up with using Nitin Mukesh!!! Well, SHabbir would have most probably been used because he had the parody that you mnetioned in the movie already.... As for Nitin Mukesh, well, if i had a free hand i would first use AMit Kumar and then perhaps a few other choices ahead of Nitin Mukesh....Manna De and Yesudas would have been my next choice after Amit because their voices have pitch closest to Guru...infact Manna De Had already once dubbed for Guru in Michael Hai to Cycle Hai....Yesudas again has similar pitch though on classical mould.....next would have been SP Balasubramaniam...he had arrived by then...and he could sing closer to Guru's voice, of course with some bit of restrain on his accentuated South Indian diction... next would have been Manhar, Nitin Mukesh and Suresh Wadkar....just my opinion... eskayes

If this does come true, then all the hard work that I tried doing in learning how to play various Indian musical instruments, learning raga and tala theory, and listening to Indian music for hours and analyzing them would come to waste. Being a 2nd generation Indian, the music is what brought me back to my culture. Secondly, there is a fine difference between hype and true praise. Each person has their likes and dislikes. Even if people in the KK forum do hype him, then what is the problem? As long as they keep their hyping under control (meaning that they don't go to other forums and bash other personalities), then that is perfectly fine. Nearly five years ago, when I saw yoodleeyoo.com, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world that Kishore Kumar fans called him Guru. It's all the matter of self-discipline. |

Thanks for all the discussions on the KK song of MR India.
Thanks for the sad version of the song. As for why KK's voice was never used is still an enigma and its pointless to argue between us on the matter. There are many situations where a singers voice has been dropped and another singers voice used in film. It really does not prove anything regarding any singers ability or inability. Atleast that's what I think. For instance - the Jadoo song of "Kaho Na Pyar Hai" was sung by both Udit Narayan and Adnan Sami. The Udit Narayan version was put in the film. Same for Hum Tum song - two recorded and only one used. |
