YESSS THE AZZURI ARE GOING TO THE FINALS biggrin.gif biggrin.gif.......What a finish it was !......Thanks Nature ji, I am sure Deep ji and all other Azzuri Fans are also jumping in joy !!! smile1.gif

Deep ji, that's true Cassano hasn't played a match in a while and that was the reason why Lippi left him off the squad but he's far better than Iaquinta IMO although as you mentioned his attitude and team spirit is not that great.....maybe if he was picked he could have tried to regain his form and then play the role Iaquinta played.....anyone would have been better than Iaquinta tongue1.gif....for me Iaquinta doesn't have the skills to be on the national team, that goal against Ghana was given to him....and plus they already have a big player like him in Toni so I don't think they needed him....I know he gave the Germans some trouble subbing on for Camoranesi....but overall I don't rate him that highly....what about you ?.

I am also not a big fan of Cassano, I only mentioned him because I thought he would have been better than Iaquinta....but if he was in the squad I would prefer Inzaghi and Del Piero over him any day. It's sad Inzaghi has only seen one match and that too when he scored a goal.

I am soooooooo happy Del Piero scored....words can't describe it....he has been my favourite player forever....today he silenced all his critics....he still has alot to offer to the team....and Grosso's goal was excellent as well.

Heard Totti might retire after the WC....which really is bad....because he also still has alot to offer to the team....if that's the case....then hope he goes out with the winning trophy.....he's one of Italy's greats !.

Forza Azzuri !!!!!!

COngrads Italy and Italian fans(prince Ali bhai especially).

It was a great match and Italy played great football.I have been watching football for last 16 years and I have never seen Italians playing so beautifully. As always their defence was great but what astonished me is their eagerness to go forward .They controlled the game through out the match.Zambrotta is I think an under rated player. He was great in defence and attack.Buffon also super. This time I think Italy deserves the cup.

agree with you. he hasn't been good at all, but the strange thing is that lippi was sure about bringing him with to the WC. Inzaghi was very unsure, even though he was in marvelous form at the end of serie-a. but lippi has brought with very many strikers. think he has brought with maximum strikers in WC - Inzaghi, Gilardino, Del Piero, Toni, Totti and Iaquinta.

I think that when inzaghi left juve in 2001 lippi and inzaghi didn't part as very good friends. Lippi's favourite players at that time was inzaghi and del piero, and I dont think he liked that he joined juves biggest rival, ac milan. that is probably the reason for why he has been used least. But I think Inzaghi is happy anyway, he didn't have the WC as a goal before the season, as he had been injured for a looong time. So the few minutes he has played has been a great bonus for him smile1.gif

Cannavaro proved that he is the best defender in ages. Just hope that Nesta wil be his partner in the Final. The best defence in the world biggrin.gif

Today I hope Portugal wins. I went to Portugal at the Euro 2004, and they were the friendlies people ever. People in the villages was as friendly as people in villages in India. I realy fell in love with the country, and now I hope they'll reach the final smile1.gif

france played just like Norway does. 10 defenders and one goalkeeper.
France won because they got a penalty that shouldnt have been a penalty. Hope Italy chrushes France on sunday.

i am unhappy ... sad1.gif sad1.gif ask why ? france won but couldn't satisfy me by their performance.
infact, portugal did that. i was with france but didn't like their style. they won because of the
penalty ... sad1.gif that goalkeeper is too good man !!! bow.gif

but i am happy, cause france got through and final will be between france & italy .. mr prediction laugh.gif
let's see what they do. italy is awesome in defence and goalkeeper is so good. it will be a real fight if
zidan gets back in form ... zidan is awesome man ... he plays with the ball, 4-5 people fight against him,
still plays with the ball, he falls down and still plays with the ball ... bow.gif
zidane is the only man who can make france complete ... am i right guys ???

nimbu & tali, tussi log go for zidane and forget podolski & klinsmann, ok ? laugh.gif

intially, i thought the same. i felt so bad, cause i don't like my fav team wins that way. i felt so bad
and hated it. but the penalty was not an injustice when the camera focused from a different angel, we
saw he was obstructing the player inside the d ... rite ??? i guess it's valid, otherwise sad1.gif ...

What did you expect? With the Pope on their side to get God on their side. How else do you explain a goal in each of the last two minutes of extra-time? ohmy.gif

CONGRATS ITALIA!!!! clap1.gif clap2.gif

--> no, no unni ji ... i didn't wanna say those goals are xtraordinary or so. but goals are goals untill
u do them in the penalty shoot out, before that every goal counts a lot. miracles happen when u score
something in the penalty shoot out or some unexpected happens in the entire match ...
anyway, happy ... clap1.gif clap2.gif

Thanks T-ji and Ashraf bhai smile1.gif

So an Italy-France final......what do you guys/gyuls think will be the outcome ?.

It's time for the Azzuri to get revenge for Euro 2000....Ashraf bhai brought that point up about the France goal in injury time in Euro 2000 that tied the game when it was almost certain it would be an Italy win, now it will be another great contest.

I'm no expert on football (or anything else, for that matter biggrin.gif ), but was that penalty justified? Was there really a foul? Unfortunately, I see the matches on American TV where the commentators know less than even I do. laugh.gif

Unniji. You said it.It was never a penalty.THough the defender tried to foul Hentry he escaped from it and later he fell on his own fault. But as always refree was with France. It is natural that refrees makes mistakes. But it seems that France is most fortunate team bcs in important tournaments France are blessed with such refereing mistakes.Great fate.

Wishing all the best for Italy.

It was definitely a penalty; when I first saw it, I too thought Henry had dived but when they showed the incident from a reverse angle shot you could clearly see Carvalho had clipped Henry's shin. Most of the pundits covering the game, including Leonardo, Shearer and Hansen, thought the same.
