Here are a few CD/ DVD rips, I did give your versions a hearing U ji and to my ears these sound better. I dunno if I have more to offer till 1956, will try and get to the rest soon. I have renamed the files as per your convention. All @ 128 and such gorgeous songs!
This last one (for now) is courtesy Sani. It's 40 or so seconds longer than your version, and has some more iterations of the bewafa balamwa 1955_Subah_Ka_Intezaar___JORU_KA_BHAI___Jaidev___3[1].14.zip and 1952_Hum_kitna_roye___SHIN_SHINAKI_BABLA_BOO___C[1]._Ramachandra___3.26.zip uploaded by you are CD rips too. It's been an honor to contribute to this thread at last You must be the change you want to see in the world - Mahatma Gandhi |

This thread is like a huge green tree in desert giving cool shadow to bypassers like me. The sweet melodeous songs in maiden voice of Lataji are real gems. My heartily thanks to Unniji for this sweetest thread (soon my Hard disk will crash). BCji, I would just love to remember the year 1951.. Year – 1951 Film – Ashiana Madan Mohan Rajinder Krishna Samaa Hai Bahaar Ka Le Le Mazaa Pyar Ka Aaja Aaja Sanware Aaja Aaja Banware O Aaja. Mera Qaraar Leja Mujhe Beqraar Kar Ja Dum Bhar To Pyar Kar Ja Film – Ada Lyrics-Prem Dhawan Sanwari Surat Man Bhaaii Re Piya Tori Sanwari Surat Man Bhaaii Lyrics- Raja Mehendi Ali Khan Preetam Meri Duniya Mein, Dou din Tou Rahe Hote, Hum Prem Ke Sagar Mein Ik Saath Bahe Hote Film – Madhosh Lyrics-Raja Mehendi Ali Khan Meri Ankhon Ki Neend Le Gaya, Bedardi Balam, Oh o o o Dagaa De Gayaa Hamen Ho Gayaa Tumse Pyar Bedardi Balmaa, Haaye Bedardi Balmaa Dil Le Le Na Kar Inkaar Bedardi Balmaa Haaye Bedardi Balmaa Dil Shaad Tha Ke Phool Khilenge Bahaar Mein

Glad to see some more highlights. Thanks USRF. I was desperately looking for some inputs on styles of compositions prevailing during those years among all contemporaries. A tedious job for any Lata fan. In one of the biographies on Lata-ji, the author pointed out the advantage she enjoyed over Noor Jehan. Lata-ji had composers from across the various regions of India to create tunes for her --- C. Ramachandra with his Maharashtrian flavour, Hemant Kumar bringing the rich musical culture of Bengal, Burman-dada drawing from the folk tunes of the eastern states, Naushad-sahab's creations based on Indian classical, the eclectic tunes of Shankar-Jaikishen, Kalyanji-Anandji and Lakshmikant-Pyarelal, etc. Her music directors hailed from the far north, the Punjab, as well as from the South. Even Pankaj Mullick wanted to compose tunes for her to sing, but tragically, he passed away before that came to fruition. Anil Biswas, Sajjad Hussain, Husnlal-Bhagatram, Khemchand Prakash, Ghulam Haider, Ghulam Mohammed, Salil Chowdhury, Chitragupta, Roshan, Khayyam and numerous others, each with his own 'anokhi ada', and we have a melange, a virtual pot-pourri of styles for Lata-ji to interpret. Resulting in a treasure-house of music in Lata-ji's voice. If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

It's "lists' time! For 1958, the songs in my compilation are: . . 11) Mujhe Na Bula - SUVARNA SUNDARI 5.11 . . Songs of "Madhumati" and "Adalat", for example, are quite common. Please let me know if you'd like me to upload any songs from this list. The Suvarna Sundari song, please. At your convenience, Unni. Thanks a lot for your lovely & structured uploads. Listening to a song keeping the year of recording/release in mind is great fun and puts a lot of compositions & music-arrangements in perspective. Of course, you have FM channels in India that do not even bother to mention the name of the film, let alone the composer & lyricist while playing a song. (shukar hain beech beech mein artist ka naam keh dete hain!) Regards-Archie. |

The Suvarna Sundari song, please. At your convenience, Unni. Regards-Archie. In my mind, this song will always be associated with the original Tamil version sung by P. Sushila. If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.
