Folks, need some opinions/feedback from you. I'd mentioned earlier that especially the songs from say, 1960 onwards, are easily available. Well before I reach that part of the compilation, I'd like your views as whether I should continue uploads with songs all the way upto 1987 or we should use an earlier cut-off year. For that matter, Lata-ji had some lovely songs even after 1987, which will not be uploaded. So, should we just stay with the first 2 decades of her singing career?

Few Lata songs, specially with Chitragupt, Vasant Desai, Salil Chowdhury and less known
MDs are difficult to find. (Period-1955 to 1965). Few obscure scores of Laxmi Pyare are
also unavailable.
Likewise albums after 1970 to 1977 are out of market which have either one or two noticeable
Lata solos. Ex:Jyoti-by Shanker Jaikishan

We can leave songs like: Aha aap mujhe achche lagne lage.........Farz unsure.gif

That song (from "JEENE KI RAAH) won the Filmfare Award for "Best Song Of The Year (Female Voice) for 1969.

U ji, my two cents - maybe post 196? (whatever cut off date we decide) you could just post your shortlist instead of uploading the songs, since a majority of them would be available to/ for Lata fans.

Whaddya say I upload upto 1960, then post only the list and take requests for upload?

I dunno how many people will want my head for this, but yes, I think that should be how it's done. Uploading so much music is a task and I think we should all have consideration for someone that's such a big contributor otherwise too.

In your list you'll include some important details na? Bit rate, Source (if possible) and song length?? unsure.gif

It's either in 128 or (a few) higher. I can mention the song-length, no hassle.

i think lists would do for those years.
it will be difficult to upload every song.
and many of late 50's and 60's songs have been uploaded recently. smile3.gif

Great uploads Unniji.

My humble opinion is that you should continiou the uploads slowing down the pace a little .Of course famous numbers can be omitted( for eg Guide song 'aaj phir jeene ki' or Khandan song 'tumhi mera mandir').


Another thing I noticed after coming here in HF is that Lata Mangeshkar forum has always been neglected.It has never been active the way it has to be.Compare it with MAS.I don't know the reason why?...May be there is not enough die hard fans for her in HF.Even we don't have a website dedicated to her(in my knowledge).

Another humble opinion is pls dont discuss anything ugly in this forum dedicated to Lataji. it is quite disgusting.

i think this forum is running good.

you cannot make people contribute more against their wishes.

we have many uploads and too many downloads.

but we need to have more discussions too.

i have been here for almost 6 months
