hello friends,
about ten years back i heard zubaida khanum's voice for the first time and was charmed by her voice and style which was quite similar to geeta dutt.here is some information from the net about her-

Zubaida Khanum was top female singer in the 50s. She was introduced in film "Billo" by Baba Chishti in 1951 and got breakthrough from famous film Shehri Babu in 1953. She sung lot of super hit songs in films listed to the right and also in films like Hameeda, Baaghi, Sheikh Chilli, Jatti, Raaz, Sola Aaney, Naaji and many more.
Zubaida Khanum appeared as second heroine in film Patay Khan with Zarif who plyaed the title role. (Madam Noor Jehan was the first heroine in this film).
She stopped her film career after marriage in the end of the 50s.

i will be uploading some of her songs which i have.i don't have any other information about these songs[film/music director/lyricist/co-singer/year etc].people who have details regarding these song pl. help.

here are first four songs.
regards,
mahesh

Hello Mahesh,
We share so many things in common! Geeta Dutt, Zubaida Khanum, Lata Mangeshkar smile.gif . Here are the details of the 2 songs :-

Chalak rahi hai mastiyan (Co Singer = Ahmed Rushdi, M/D :- Feroze Nizami, Film :- Raaz, Year = 1958, Picturized on Mussarat Nazir and Ejaz (Noor Jehan's second husband))

Dheere sai aake nindiya (M/D :- Khurshid Anwar, Film = Zehar-e-Ishq, Year = 1958, Picturized on Yasmin?)

I dont think that she stopped her film career at the end of the 50s. Her output decreased considerably after 50s, but she was still there in the 60s. One of my most favorite songs sung by her is from the film Shaheed (1962, M/D :- Rashid Attre)

Udoun badaloun kai sang, jab sai pyar mila, wai wai dildar mila

I made one mistake. Dheere sai aake nindiya is from Naya Zamana. I confused this lorie with her other lorie from Zehar-e-Ishq "so jaa re so jaa".
