Yes its Kuhu Kuhi bole koyalia as R&D has mentioned , but my Cd list only Lataj i as singer.... Also I am pretty sure I have never come across a duet version of this... I guess this is Lata ji's solo song... I don't know much about Ragas , but as this is from collection of songs from classical CD , so my ID3 tag says Raag Sohini.... all the raga expert , bhibhas, unni , anuraag... is it sohini ?? I guess so ...

BJ this song is indeed sung by Rafi and Lata. Picturised on Anjali Devi and Nageshwar Rao...both south indian stalwarts. Originally it was a south indian composition used in hindi remake.

This is what more my south indian friends have to say:

The original was "Thesulavuthe ...." sung by Ghantasala and P.Susheela from the movie "MaNalane Mangayin baaggiyam" (composed by Adi Narayan Rao).. Boy, it has four stanzas, all with different tunes and great singing by the two. The Hindi remake "Kuhoo Kuhoo Bole koyaliya" by Rafi and Lata paled in comparison. When it comes to PURE Hindustani songs with a lot of those taans and "rolling", Ghantasala is head and shoulders above any Indian Film Music singer. The Telugu version of "Shiva Shankari" is a great example. He showed a strong leaning towards Hindustani Raags.One of my pals said that Ustaad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan used to stay at his house during his visits to Madras.

I am told that the song is mixture of so many raags... jaunpuri, sohni,bahaar and yaman clap1.gif

The song I have is of 6.26 minutes length...I donot know whether Mohsin has uploaded full version in Lataji's forum wink2.gif

Is Mohsin's version a duet ? Can we get to hear a duet version of it ? As I think I have never heard Rafi sahab in that song ever before.... My CD rip also shows 6:26 as time stamp for duration ....

Nevermind I found my Suwarna Sundari CD and yes you are correct I do hear RAFI sahab here though most of the song is dominated by Lata ji , but its sure a duet smile1.gif ... thanks for correcting.... I do hear Rafi sahab.....
