Songs of "Barsaat (1949)" Continued ...
I am including here three extended versions of the original songs. These are all by the courtesy of the Forum members. Thank you. I am also including "Barsaat Mein Hum Se Mile Tum" a live version of Lata. The song is the same as the orginal one uploaded in my Post 1 except here you can hear audience cheering before the song starts and at the end of the song. Also included is the song "Jiya Beqaraar Hai" with Manoj Kumar's introduction where he pays glowing tributes to Raj. This is about 28 seconds and it is followed by the actual song. This tribute and the song is from the "Legends: Raj Kapoor - The Showman (CD1)" album. Here are these songs ... This post has been edited by swarapriya: Sep 19 2009, 02:15 AM Attached image(s) |

(Madhubala) Nirala (1950)
Here is a fine album by C. Ramchandra. Almost through late 50's and even into early 60's Chitalkar was phenomenally successful in composing hit songs. This album also has some nice songs. Most of these songs are by the courtesy of the Forum mebers. Others came from a DVD. It appears that I am missing one song shown in red italics in the table below. If this is the case, and if you happen to have it, pleas kindly share with us. Quality of some of the songs is really poor. Especially the song "Dil Mein Kisi Ke" has not only some skips but its sound quality is also very poor. I am including here to ensure that the uplaod is almost complete. Anyways, here are the songs ... This post has been edited by swarapriya: Sep 24 2009, 10:54 AM Attached image(s) |

Kind Regards Faraaj Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. - Victor Hugo There is only one better thing than music - live music. - Jacek Bukowski I hate music, especially when it's played. - Jimmy Durante No good opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible. - W. Why not let Swarapriya introduce the film, with her usual illuminating write-ups and request any missing songs? Thank you very much Faraaj for putting so much confidence in me. I am plain flattered. I am not really shy to speak my mind as you may have noticed in my write ups. You can share your mind only if it comes from your heart. Language is only an instrument but a beautiful one when one can express their feelings effectively within the realm of the subject and personal experiences. A personal touch always gives a lasting impression, whether you agree with the thoughts and philosophies behind those expressed opinions or not. That said, Faraaj, I believe there is no harm done when someone comes forward to help even if it is unsolicited. Again many thanks for expressing such confidence in me. Cheers, Swarapriya |

(Meena) Madhosh (1951)
Here is one of the early albums of the incomparable Madan Mohan. It probably was his second album. Lata Mangeshkar dominates this album with six solos out of nine songs. This is how the great partnership of Lataji and Madan Mohan Saab, Lataji used to call him "Madan Bhayya", started. It has led to some of the greatest compositions of Mohanji and some of the sweetest songs of Lataji that probably will be perennially remembered for their heart rendering melodies. There is a song in this album by a singer named Chand and I don't believe I have heard too much of. This probably is the only one. Talat Saab has a great song, a ghazal, "Meri Yaad Mein", sung in his inimitable style with that silken voice he was famous for. Here are all of the songs from this beautiful album ...
