Does any tell me whether Geeta dutt has rendered any song in punjabi films? If so, I shall like to know the details as I am compiling punjabi geet kosh and would like to put this the information in the said publication.

It was recorded many years back. I cant remember the source. However I have many songs which have two parts but not mentioned in geet kosh

music for shahzadi was composed by shiv dayal batishji whose son is a member of hf.
s d batish composed around 20 songs for geetaji and even sang few duets with her.
it would be nice to know s d batish's opinion regarding geetaji.

dharamvirji, u seem to have the most unusual songs by Geetha dutt in ur collection ,do u happen to have a song that goes" tere kasam tujpe sanam pyar kiya hai teri muhobbath ne beqaraar kiya hai" very lively and melodious song,of which i hardly have any other details.

The reason of delay :
1.Power cuts during logging hours .And if I use inverter to transfer songs from recorder to computer I fear of some backgroung noise.
2.There is some problem with the forum. Just 30 persons logged and it gives error server is too busy,not logged in. In last few days I have to upload some files four to five times because after almost all upload the file vanishes and not logged in error appears.Even I cannot log out after logging in.
I also request the admins to look into the matter.There is no problem with the server or with any other website,at my end. I have a DSL broadband connection.
As soon as the logging is OK with the forum I will upload

Once again many thanks for the rare Geeta songs from Darogaji and other movies. I noticed that one of the songs is from 1959 movie Jaisingh. This movie has a beautiful Manna Dey bhajan "Prabhu Sang Preet Laga Re Manwa". Please upload this bhajan at your convenience in Manna Dey's thread.

My collection is mostly in the form of records, both 78 RPM and EP / LP variety, and cassettes. I have not yet managed to convert them into CD / MP3 format. Also this collection is in India while I am based in Middle East. I have started the task of converting them into CD format through friends in India but, given the large number of records and cassettes, it would take a long time. Recently a friend has started the task with 78 RPM records. Hopefully this will be followed by other records and eventually cassettes. My next visit to India will be sometime around December this year. During this visit, I hope to get many CDs and share them with friends from HF.

Ok here is a fact that was incorrect about Geeta Dutt:
Kanu Roy is not related to the Roy Chowdhurys at all.
Mukul da and Milan da are the two brothers so far I know of. I am getting a list of all siblings of her's soon from our common friend.

dharamvirji, u seem to have the most unusual songs by Geetha dutt in ur collection ,do u happen to have a song that goes" tere kasam tujpe sanam pyar kiya hai teri muhobbath ne beqaraar kiya hai" very lively and melodious song,of which i hardly have any other details.
The film Jagga Daku in which this song appears had music composed by S. N. Tripathi. The lead roles were by Jairaj, Jabbin and Tiwari. I remember another beautiful song from the movie, a duet of Manna Dey with Geeta Dutt(?)... Tu Roop Ki Nagari Ki Rani, Mai Choron Ki Nagari Ka Raja, Ek Baar To Ankhiyan Milne De Teri Kaise Karoo Mehmani.
